Life can be chaotic. Especially nowadays. Having some form of control over it can be highly satisfying. A great way to bring calm to my life is by being more organized. Did you know that organized people have healthy habits that allow them to remain organized? No matter how disorganized you might be, a person can quickly learn to become more organized. The following ideas are what I use to help me organize my life.

I Write Down Important Things
I’m bad at remembering birthdays. I know my parents’, my siblings’, and my children’s birthdays. As well as my husband’s. Everything else is a guestimate. So, I write it down. It would be silly of me to think that I have an excellent memory. I write everything down.
Preparing a Schedule and Set Deadlines
Even though it’s just my husband and me, being more organized is avoiding wastage of time. There are times when I need to work around his schedule. And the other way around. I understand the value of time and am less likely to waste it. By remaining organized, I get to stay productive. This is why it is a good idea for me to maintain a schedule and set deadlines. Making sure to stick to the plan.
Avoiding Procrastination
Procrastination is the worst enemy of being organized. I might want to give in to the demon, But I simply do not let procrastination take hold of me. The longer I sit and wait to do what I need to do, the harder it would be for me to get done with it. To live a less stressful life, I had to stop procrastinating and get on with what I was supposed to be doing. When I immediately get done with what you are supposed to do, I feel a lot happier. Especially when I can check it off my list.
Regularly Decluttering
When I lived in a cluttered home, I could not find what I’m looking for. It would prevent me from achieving my goals. Now, I devote some time every day to remaining organized. For things to stay organized, I get rid of things that I do not need. Going through our home and throwing out or donating things I no longer use. Only keep those items I actually need.
Doing this has helped me tremendously with our upcoming move. I think it’s time to have a yard sale.
